5 reasons to buy

  • Although this is not technically a backpack vacuum, it is still portable in a somehow similar way, using just one shoulder strap. This feature makes it easier and quicker to carry around smaller areas.
  • Users think this vacuum offers great value at a very reasonable price.
  • The vacuum features some simple yet useful accessories for multiple purposes.
  • The cord has a length of 33 feet, which is reasonable for a vacuum this size.
  • According to multiple users, this vacuum works well in an RV, on a boat, or in a small workshop.

5 reasons not to buy

  • It has a reusable cloth bag included, but it is a bit messy when emptied.
  • Apparantly this backpack vacuum had a design change recently, which means one lever has to keep the hose in place AND the bag door closed. According to multiple users, this lever doesn’t work properly.
  • There’s no onboard storage for accessories, which means you have to store them separately.
  • Some buyers think the suction is too weak, which makes it difficult to pick up anything besides regular dust.
  • The bag has a capacity of just .5 gallons, which is very little compared with other backpack vacuums.

The Hoover PortaPOWER CH30000 is a very handy vacuum, which isn’t actually a backpack. Instead it features a single shoulder strap, which in return makes it very easy to grab and go in just a few seconds. According to some users the design changed recently, and the vacuum isn’t exactly as practical as before. Some even had problems with the lever holding the hose in place and keeping the bag door closed, and this wasn’t an issue before. It might be a great choice for an RV, a boat or similar small spaces, where a backpack vacuum is an obvious choice due to its practicality. All in all, this is a great and very handy choice for various tasks around the house.
